Recruiting: Ms Fessenden has successfully recruited candidates for a wide variety of positions; including chief human resources officers at Emerson College, Ithaca College, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and Ohio Wesleyan University. She has successfully filled finance and IT positions at Berklee College of Music and Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences.. Ms Fessenden’s far-reaching contacts within the higher education community enable her to network extensively. In many cases, the candidates have not been actively seeking new employment opportunities prior to being contacted by The Fessenden Group.
Coaching: Ms. Fessenden works one-on-one with a number of individual clients holding senior level positions within higher education to help improve their job performance and job satisfaction.
Specialized Projects: After working with the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth to recruit a chief human resources officer, Ms Fessenden was retained to conduct an assessment of the human resource function. Extensive interviews were held to determine current practice and where the gaps were in the delivery of HR services. Recommendations were made that served as the basis for re-organization of responsibilities, titles, and space. She has also worked with a number of schools to assist in the formulation of job descriptions and the development of personnel policies and procedures.
Professional Development: Ms Fessenden is certified in the administration of the DiSC® Personal Profile System and the DiSC® Team Dimension Profile and has used these extensively in the developement and presentation of workshops designed to assist senior staff understand their leadership styles in order to enhance communication with their staff.and to foster a understanding of the individual strengths each employee brings to the team. .
