Maureen FessendenPrior to starting a consulting practice, Maureen Fessenden spent twenty years as a human resource professional, serving in state government and higher education.  A former educator, she began her human resource career in the Office of the Massachusetts Secretary of State, where she rose to the rank of Executive Director of Personnel and Staff Development.  At Pine Manor College she instituted the first professional human resource function.  At Dean College, she served as a member of the President’s cabinet while overseeing human resource operations and strategic planning.  At both institutions she played a key role in preparation for the accreditation process.


In her most recent position, Ms.Fessenden served as the Chief Human Resource Officer at Brandeis University where one of her major responsibilities was the adoption of a new integrated HR information system.  During her seven year tenure at Brandeis she worked in concert with other senior managers to craft a long-term strategic plan for the university. 

Ms. Fessenden has presented at a number of professional conferences and has taught a variety of human resource related courses to adult learners. Ms. Fessenden received a B.S. from Framingham State College where she later served as a member of the Board of Trustees as well as a member of the College’s foundation.  She completed a certificate course in Human Resources Management at Bentley College and received a certificate in Negotiations and Mediation from Harvard University.  She has also participated in graduate level courses at Babson College.  She is a graduate of the Coaches Training Institute and is trained in the administration of DiSC® as well as other assessment tools.
